In 3 months of joining

At the time of joining Medium, the sole thought was to publish my content at one place, which otherwise was spread all over, in GitHub repositories, YouTube comments, LinkedIn articles, etc.

Took some time for me to get the structure and the mechanism of this site, but with the help from various publications, especially the ones under ILLUMINATION umbrella, helped me feel at home (thanks Dr Mehmet Yildiz).

Here is where I am today. My name has made it to a couple of official categories (‘Ideas’, and ‘Future’) and a few of un-official ones (‘Sketchnote’, ‘Hobby’, ‘NaturalLanguageProcessing’).

*Software as a Service

SaaS industry is going leaps-and-bounds with the overall industry growing almost 500% over past seven years. SaaS is nothing but an application that is served from cloud, and users pay per use. Salesforce, Zendesk are some major examples. Micro SaaS is a smaller and a niche application serving a very specific need and clientele. Sketchnote below gives an overview of the landscape.

For choosing domain

  • Specific Knowledge: unique/rare, not trainable, on job experience, genuine curiosity (Ref: Naval Ravikant)
  • Ikigai: Love doing| World needs | Good at| Paid for

  • Specific Knowledge == Monopoly == Ikigai
  • Chose area to have less/no competition
  • To make money, you need Specialization, Leverage, Accountability
    - Specialization: unfair advantage, non-trainable, unique combination.
    - Leverage: Force multiplier like software which works while u r sleeping.
    - Accountability: Taking responsibility, Delivering value, being a Brand.
    - Compounding is core.
